British Foundation for the Study of Arabia

publié le , mis à jour le

The BFSA (British Foundation for the Study of Arabia) exists to promote research relating to the Arabian Peninsula and, in particular, its archaeology, history, epigraphy, languages, literature, art, architecture, culture, ethnography, geography, geology and natural history. More information about the BFSA and its activities can be found on their website : https://www.thebfsa.org/

The BFSA publishes an annual Bulletin in the spring compiling notices on research, publications, field work, museum updates. societies, conferences and events in the Arabian Peninsula. It also carries feature articles, thesis synopses and book reviews. An Arabic section is planned for future issues. The Bulletin is intended primarily for the scholarly community but is also read by the interested public.

Short notices of ongoing or forthcoming research, together with information on interesting conferences, exhibitions and events relating to the study of the Arabian Peninsula that you or colleagues have attended, or will do so in the future can be presented in the bulletin.

Notices are intended to raise awareness of the range and scope of current research in the Arabian Peninsula. They should be short abstracts or summaries, between 300- 700 words, followed by bibliographic references to recent publications and links to relevant department or project websites. Photographs would be welcome, too, and should be at least 300 dpi ; please indicate the copyright in each case. Research notices published by the Bulletin constitute an excellent means to raise the profile of your research amongst peers and provides a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration. Email your contribution to current_research@thebfsa.org.

The deadline for submissions is 15th February 2016. Please feel free to pass this invite on to colleagues or students you feel may be interested. If you would like to be removed from this mailing list please notify us. We look forward to hearing more from you.
